Free plan features are provided at no cost. Premium subscriptions ("Plus" and "Pro") are billed on a monthly or annual basis. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through your account settings. Refunds are provided per our 30-day money-back guarantee for first-time paid subscribers. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.
The Service, including all software, content, designs, and AI models, is owned by BetterFriendAI, Inc. and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
Content you create (journal entries, conversation content) remains yours. You grant BetterFriendAI a limited license to process this content to provide the Service. We do not claim ownership of your content.
Your privacy is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BETTERFRIENDAI DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BETTERFRIENDAI'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BetterFriendAI, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Data deletion follows the timeline outlined in our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in San Francisco, California, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide 30 days' notice of material changes via email and in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
